The Short Version

  • 5×114.3 with a 64 mm hub bore on every CR-V generation from the RD1 to the RE4.
  • Offset is +50 throughout. Only the wheel grows.
  • 2WD and 4WD are identical. No split anywhere.
  • It matches the JDM Odyssey, which is also 5×114.3 on 64 mm.

One Hub Across the Honda Range

The CR-V uses the same hub as the rest of Honda’s larger cars: 5×114.3 with a 64 mm bore, confirmed on the RD1 from 1995, the RD5 from 2001 and both the RE3 and RE4 from 2006.

That is the same combination as the JDM Odyssey, the Accord Euro R, the DC5 Integra, the EP3 Civic Type R and the S2000 — the whole Honda five-lug family.

For a buyer that is genuinely useful. It means a CR-V can wear wheels from a considerably more interesting Honda, and it means the used-wheel pool is one of the largest in Japan.

Read from the Japanese factory wheel database.

Note the progression: 15×6J, then 16×6J, then 18×7J — three inches of diameter across three generations, and the offset never moves off +50.

What That Means Practically

Because the offset is constant, an RE3’s 18-inch wheels sit in exactly the same place as an RD1’s 15s. So upgrading a first-generation CR-V with third-generation factory wheels is a direct swap, subject only to brake clearance and tyre choice.

That is unusually convenient, and it is worth knowing when you are looking at used takeoffs. A set of RE3 or RE4 18s is a cheap way to modernise an RD1 or RD5 without any geometry consequences.

For aftermarket work the usual window is 17×7.5J to 18×8J in the +40 to +50 range. Below about +35 you are starting to load the bearings on a tall vehicle.

64 mm hub rings are needed with most aftermarket 5×114.3 wheels, which are commonly bored 73 mm.

Importing

The RD1 ran 1995–2001, so it is essentially fully eligible for US import — cars built through August 2001 qualify, which is the whole generation. The RD5 from 2001 follows to 2031, and the RE3 and RE4 are 2031 and later.

North America had the CR-V throughout, so a JDM one is a right-hand-drive and grade decision rather than a necessity.

What We Could Not Verify

  • The fourth and fifth generations (RM and RW), which are outside this guide’s scope.
  • Our comparison to the Stepwgn came from secondary sources rather than a factory page in this pass. The Odyssey comparison is from our own verified guide.
