Introduction
If you have arrived here from our LS430 guide assuming the wheels carry over, stop. They do not. The LS460 changed the bolt pattern, the stud thread and the factory offset all at once. It is the single most common mistake we see on this platform, and it is an expensive one — LS430 and LS460 wheels look similar in a listing photo and will not fit each other.
Section 1: OEM Wheel Specifications
| Generation | Years | Variant | OEM Size | Bolt Pattern | Offset | Hub Bore |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| USF40 | 2006–2009 | LS460 18-inch | 7.5Jx18 | 5×120 | ET32 (30–34) | 60.1 mm |
| USF40 | 2006–2009 | LS460 19-inch | 8Jx19 | 5×120 | ET35 (33–37) | 60.1 mm |
| USF40 Facelift | 2012–2017 | LS460 18-inch | 7.5Jx18 | 5×120 | ET32 / ET35 | 60.1 mm |
| USF40 Facelift | 2012–2017 | LS460 19-inch | 8Jx19 | 5×120 | ET35 (33–37) | 60.1 mm |
The critical difference — LS430 vs LS460:
| Spec | LS430 (UCF30/31) | LS460 (USF40/41) |
|---|---|---|
| Bolt pattern | 5×114.3 | 5×120 |
| Stud thread | M12 x 1.5 | M14 x 1.5 |
| Torque | 103 Nm | 140 Nm |
| Hub bore | 60.1 mm | 60.1 mm |
| Factory offset | ET45 | ET32 / ET35 |
Only the hub bore carries over. Everything else changed. Note also that 5×120 is the same bolt pattern used by BMW — so the LS460’s aftermarket wheel pool overlaps with BMW far more than with any other Lexus. If you are shopping used wheels, BMW-fitment stock is a legitimate source, subject to hub bore and offset.
Section 2: Recommended Fitment Ranges

Factory-Faithful (Daily Driver)
Verified OEM range: ET30 to ET37, depending on wheel diameter
- 18-inch: 7.5J ET32 with 235/50R18
- 19-inch: 8J ET35 with 245/45ZR19
- Notes: The LS460 left the factory with a lower offset than the LS430. Do not carry the LS430’s ET45 habit across — an ET45 wheel will sit noticeably further inboard here
Lowered / VIP Fitment
Typical aftermarket range: roughly ET15 to ET30, with 8.5J to 10J widths
- Ride height: Air suspension dominates this platform
- Fender work: Expected once you combine wide barrels with low offset
- Caution: These are scene norms, not manufacturer specifications. Measure your own car
What the community actually runs
While researching this guide we reviewed public LS460 build posts on Instagram. One wheel dominated to the point of near-uniformity: BBS LM. Every USF40 build we found with a named wheel was on LM or an LM-style mesh. If you want the established LS460 look, that is the reference point. If you want to stand out, you are working against a strong convention.

Section 4: Selection Tips and Cautions
- Check the bolt pattern before anything else. 5×120, not 5×114.3. If a seller lists an LS430 wheel as “fits LS460”, the listing is wrong.
- M14 x 1.5 studs. LS430 lug nuts will not fit. Budget for correct nuts when buying used wheels, and confirm seat type (taper vs ball) matches the wheel.
- 140 Nm torque. Meaningfully higher than the LS430’s 103 Nm — use a torque wrench, not an impact gun.
- Weight. The LS460 is around 1,900–2,100 kg depending on spec and drivetrain. Verify the wheel’s load rating; do not assume a wheel sized for a 3-series will carry it.
- Hybrid and AWD variants. LS600h and AWD cars differ in weight and sometimes in brake package. Check caliper clearance separately if you are downsizing diameter.
Fitment verification checklist:
- ✓ Confirm 5×120 — not 5×114.3
- ✓ Confirm M14 x 1.5 lug nuts and correct seat type
- ✓ Verify load rating against kerb weight
- ✓ Check caliper clearance before going below 18-inch
- ✓ If air-ride: check clearance fully aired out and at maximum lift
Conclusion
The LS460 is a rewarding platform to fit wheels to, but only once you accept that it shares almost nothing with the LS430 that came before it. Start from the factory ET32/ET35 rather than the LS430’s ET45, remember that 5×120 opens up the BMW wheel market to you, and check load rating against a two-tonne kerb weight before you commit.
