Introduction
The R35 shares its bolt pattern and hub bore with a Silvia. That sounds like good news for wheel choice, and in one narrow sense it is — but nothing else about R35 fitment resembles an ordinary JDM car. The factory runs a 20 mm offset split between the axles, the torque figure is higher than almost anything else in this series, and the car weighs close to 1,750 kg while making supercar power. This guide covers the verified factory specifications and the constraints that actually matter.
Section 1: OEM Wheel Specifications
Every R35 uses 5×114.3 with a 66.1 mm hub bore, M12 x 1.25 lug nuts and 132 Nm torque. The car is staggered from the factory in both width and offset.

Front ET45, rear ET25. That 20 mm difference is the number to hold on to. Front and rear wheels are not interchangeable, and a set of four wheels quoted at a single offset is not an R35 fitment.
The NISMO is different at the front only. It runs a wider 10J rim at a lower ET41, while the rear stays at 10.5J ET25. If you are buying used NISMO wheels for a standard car, or the reverse, check which axle each wheel came from.
The Silvia coincidence
5×114.3 with a 66.1 mm hub bore is exactly what an S14 or S15 Silvia uses. In practice that shared specification is close to useless: Silvia wheels are 6J to 6.5J at ET40–45, and an R35 needs 9.5J to 10.5J. The pattern matches; nothing else does. Treat the coincidence as trivia rather than a shopping strategy.

Factory-Faithful
Stay on the axle-specific figures above. The R35’s suspension geometry, brake package and weight distribution were developed around them.
- Load rating is not negotiable. This is a heavy car with extreme performance. Verify the wheel’s rated load, not just its size
- Brake clearance rules out small diameters. The factory brake package will not clear anything meaningfully below 20-inch
- 132 Nm torque. Higher than most JDM cars — use a torque wrench and check after the first drive
Aftermarket Fitment
- Forged is the norm. At this weight and power, wheel construction matters more than on any other car in this series
- Wide body changes everything. Liberty Walk and similar kits move the arches outward, which is why widebody R35s run offsets that would be unusable on a standard car
- These are scene norms, not manufacturer specifications. Measure your own car, particularly if the bodywork has been modified

- Buy by axle. Front and rear differ in width and offset. Confirm which axle a used wheel came from
- Standard and NISMO fronts are not the same. 9.5J ET45 versus 10J ET41
- M12 x 1.25 lug nuts. The Nissan pitch — not M12 x 1.5
- 132 Nm torque. Notably higher than the ~103 Nm typical of older JDM cars
- Verify load rating against roughly 1,750 kg and very high cornering loads. A wheel adequate for a 1,200 kg sports car is not automatically adequate here
- Check tyre pressure monitoring compatibility if you are building a second set

R35 wheel fitment is unusually rigid. Work axle by axle, respect the load rating, and treat the shared 5×114.3 pattern as a coincidence rather than an opportunity.
