The Short Version

  • 5×114.3 with a 64 mm hub bore across every JDM Odyssey generation, RA1 through RB2.
  • Four-wheel-drive grades match their front-drive siblings exactly — same pattern, same bore, same offset.
  • Offset went from +45 to +55 between the first and second generations and stayed there.
  • This is not the American Odyssey. Different vehicle, different platform, different everything.

The Confusion That Costs People Money

Honda sold two completely different vehicles called Odyssey at the same time. The JDM Odyssey is a low-roof, car-height seven-seater on a bespoke Japanese platform. The North American Odyssey, from the second generation onward, is a full-size Accord-derived minivan with sliding doors.

They share a name and nothing else. Wheels do not transfer, and a listing that says “fits Honda Odyssey” without a chassis code is telling you nothing.

If you are buying JDM Odyssey wheels, the codes you want are RA1 to RA9 for 1994–2003 and RB1 or RB2 for 2003–2008.

The Absolute Grades

Absolute is the sporting trim and it does what you would expect: 17 inch instead of 16, at the same +55 offset, on a lower-profile 215/55R17. Everything else is the same.

So Absolute wheels bolt to an ordinary Odyssey of the same generation and will simply be an inch larger. That is a common and sensible upgrade path, and it is why Absolute takeoffs move quickly on the Japanese used market.

+55 Is the Number

The first-generation car sits at +45. From the second generation on, everything is +55 — base grades, Absolute grades, front-drive and four-wheel-drive alike.

That is deep, and it is why an Odyssey on factory wheels looks tucked. The practical aftermarket window is 17×7.5J to 18×8J in the +40 to +50 range, which brings the face out 5 to 15 mm.

Bear in mind this is a seven-seat vehicle that gets loaded. Check the load rating of anything you fit, and note that most Japanese wheel makers do not publish one — a point we cover in our guide to wheel load ratings.

64 mm hub rings are required with most aftermarket 5×114.3 wheels, which are typically bored 73 mm.

Importing

The first-generation RA1 to RA5 ran 1994–1999 and is fully eligible for US import. The second generation began in December 1999, so cars built through August 2001 are eligible now with the rest following to 2028. The RB1 and RB2 are 2028-and-later.

What makes the first-generation car interesting to import is precisely that America never had it — the US Odyssey of that era was a different vehicle, and the low, car-like JDM one has no North American equivalent at all.

What We Could Not Verify

  • The RA3 and RA4 facelift grades (1996–99) and the RA8 and RA9 grades individually. We read their wheel sizes from the index but did not open their PCD pages. Every RA and RB grade we did open is 5×114.3 / 64 mm.
