Toyota Ipsum, Gaia and Nadia Wheel Fitment Guide: One Chassis Code, Two Answers on the Bore

Toyota Ipsum Gaia Nadia wheel fitment card
Ipsum, Gaia and Nadia — 5×114.3, and a bore that depends which page you read.
Offset comparison diagram

The Short Version

  • 5×114.3 on all three, every generation.
  • Gaia and Nadia give a published 60 mm bore. Most of the Ipsum does not.
  • The same chassis code reports two different bores depending on which model page you read.
  • Offset is +45 almost throughout, dropping to +35 on the Nadia Type SU.

A New Kind of Database Quirk

We have documented six cars where one chassis code carries two bolt patterns. This is a different problem, and it is arguably more insidious because nothing looks wrong.

Chassis GF-SXM10G appears on both the Ipsum page and the Gaia page. Same production window — late 2000 to early 2001. Same wheel, 14×6J at +45. Same tyre, 195/65R14. Same 5×114.3.

The Ipsum page says the bore is 調査中 — unresearched. The Gaia page says 60 mm.

It is the same physical vehicle. One entry was researched and the other was not, and the database does not reconcile them.

The practical lesson is a useful one and it generalises: if your car’s page has a blank where you need a number, check its badge twin. We have now found this pattern often enough — the Carina ED versus Corona EXiV, the Wingroad versus AD Wagon, the Corolla II versus Corsa — that it is worth doing as a habit.

Where Each Model Stands

Model Chassis Period Wheel PCD / Holes / Bore
Ipsum 1st gen E-SXM10G, SXM15G 1996.05–2000.04 14×6J +45 (Aero Touring 15×6J) 114.3 / 5 / Not researched
Ipsum 1st gen facelift GF-SXM10G, SXM15G 2000.04–2001.05 14×6J +45 114.3 / 5 / Not researched
Ipsum diesel KH-CXM10G 1997–2000 14×6J +45 114.3 / 5 / Not researched
Ipsum 2nd gen TA-ACM21W, ACM26W 2001.05–2003.10 15×6.5J or 16×6.5J +45 114.3 / 5 / 60
Ipsum 2nd gen facelift UA/CBA/DBA-ACM21W, ACM26W 2003.10–2009.12 15 to 17 inch, +45 114.3 / 5 / Reverts to unresearched
Gaia GF-SXM10G/15G, KH-CXM10G, TA-ACM10G/15G 1998.05–2004.07 14×6J or 15×6J +45 114.3 / 5 / 60, uniformly
Nadia GF-SXN10/15, TA-ACN10/15 1998.08–2003.08 15×6J +45 114.3 / 5 / 60
Nadia Type SU SXN10H/15H, ACN15H 1998–2003 16×6.5J +35, 215/60R16 114.3 / 5 / 60
Read from the Japanese factory wheel database.

Note the pattern within the Ipsum alone: the 2001–2003 TA-prefix cars have a bore, and the 2003-onward facelift of the same ACM21W chassis reverts to unresearched. Two years apart, same car, different data quality.

What You Should Actually Do

If you own an Ipsum and the database gives you nothing, the Gaia figure of 60 mm is the best available evidence, and it comes from an entry for the identical chassis code. We are comfortable telling you that is very likely your number.

We are still not going to print it as the Ipsum’s specification, because it is an inference across two pages rather than a reading of yours. Measure it — our reference explains how — and you will have settled it in ten minutes.

60 mm is the large-Toyota standard in any case, shared with the Crown, the Soarer and the Noah, so the wheel pool is large either way.

The Nadia Type SU Is the Odd One

Worth pointing at. Across all three models the offset is +45 with near-total consistency — except the Nadia Type SU, which runs 16×6.5J at +35 on 215/60R16.

Ten millimetres further out and a size larger, on a raised-suspension trim. If you want a set of factory wheels that will fill the arches on any of these three, that is the one to look for.

Importing

The Ipsum launched in May 1996 and its first generation is now eligible for US import. The Gaia and Nadia arrived in 1998 and follow through 2023 onward.

The Ipsum reached North America as the Toyota Picnic in some markets and not at all in others; the Gaia and Nadia were Japan-only. The Nadia in particular — a tall, glassy, five-seat thing with a bubble roofline — is a genuinely odd shape that has aged in an interesting direction.

What We Could Not Verify

  • Hub bore for the first-generation Ipsum (SXM and CXM chassis) and for the 2003-onward second-generation facelift (UA/CBA/DBA-ACM). Both unresearched, despite adjacent production runs of the same chassis carrying a published figure.
  • Why chassis GF-SXM10G reports differently between the Ipsum and Gaia pages. We can only report that it does.
  • Tyre sizes for many Ipsum and Gaia grades.
