

The Short Version
- 4×100 with a 54 mm bore, identical to the AE92 before it and the AE86 before that. Nothing changes at the hub across the whole family.
- What changes is offset, and it moves in both directions. AE92 GT-APEX is +39. AE101 GT is +45. AE111 BZ-R is back to +39.
- The AE101 trap: same 14×5.5J rim as the AE92, six millimetres more inset.
- Everything here is US-import eligible. Production ended in August 2000.
The Offset Zigzag
Buyers cross-shop AE86, AE92, AE101 and AE111 wheels as one pool, and on bolt pattern they are right to — it is 4×100 with a 54 mm register throughout. The catch is offset, and it does not move in a straight line.

Look at the first two rows. Identical rim — 14×5.5J — and a six millimetre offset difference. That is the trap. A set of AE101 GT wheels on an AE92 will tuck six millimetres further in than the AE92’s own wheels, and nothing about the listing will warn you, because the size is the same.
Then the AE111 BZ-R goes up an inch to 15×6J and comes back to +39. So the AE92 and the AE111 sit closer to each other in offset than either does to the AE101 in between.
What to Buy
If you are restoring to factory, the grade and generation together decide, and there is no shortcut. If you are building, the useful window across all of these cars is 15×7J in the +30 to +40 range, on a 195/50R15. That works on an AE92, an AE101 and an AE111, and it is close enough to factory geometry not to cause trouble.
54 mm hub rings are required with essentially any aftermarket 4×100 wheel. The pattern is shared with cars that have much bigger hubs, so aftermarket bores are almost always larger.
Where AE101 and AE111 Sit
The AE101 arrived in June 1991 and brought the 20-valve 4A-GE and, at the top, the supercharged GT-Z. The AE111 followed in 1995 with the later 20-valve engine, the BZ-R and BZ-G grades, and Super Strut suspension on some cars.
Both share their platform with the Corolla Ceres and Sprinter Marino, the pillarless hardtop bodies sold alongside them. We did not check those cars’ wheel tables at all, so we are not going to tell you they match — if you have a Ceres or a Marino, ask us and we will check the specific chassis code.
Importing
The AE101 ran from 1991 and the AE111 to August 2000, so everything in this guide is past the US 25-year mark. The same is true of the AE92 and AE86.
North America got the AE101-generation Corolla but not the Levin or Trueno bodies, and never the 20-valve engines or the supercharged GT-Z. Those are the cars worth importing.
What We Could Not Verify
- The supercharged AE101 GT-Z and the AE111 BZ-G with Super Strut suspension. We located those cars on the database but not their wheel pages. Five grades across three chassis codes all returned 4×100 / 54 mm, so we expect the same — but we did not confirm it, and Super Strut in particular changes the front suspension geometry enough that we would want to see it.
- Corolla Ceres and Sprinter Marino, which we did not check at all.
