The Short Version
- Still trading, still making wheels. Not bodykits only.
- Forged billet, and the PL series is three-piece.
- Offsets to −83 mm, adjustable in 1 mm steps — these are made to order.
- “Executive Sports” is a bodykit trim, not a wheel line.
The Company
VeilSide Co., Ltd. is a going concern. Its own profile page gives the CEO as 横幕宏尚 (Hironao Yokomaku), founding year 1990, and headquarters in Tsukuba, Ibaraki.
The name is not a marketing invention. It comes from the founder’s own surname: 横 (yoko, “side”) + 幕 (maku, “veil”) — VeilSide. The company describes its own history as growing out of Yokomaku Racing before the brand launched.
The Story We Are Not Going to Repeat
There is a widely-circulated account of what happened to VeilSide commercially after the Fast & Furious RX-7. We went looking for a primary source and found none.
We read VeilSide’s own profile page and its entire news archive from 2012 to 2023. There is no mention of the franchise affecting the company’s fortunes in either direction.
What the archive does show is a long series of matter-of-fact commercial tie-ins timed to film releases — a Fast & Furious 6 campaign in 2013, one for the eighth film in 2017, an F9 campaign in 2021, a Fast X campaign in 2023. Ordinary promotional activity, nothing more.
So we can tell you the company has been running film-tie-in sales campaigns for a decade, and we cannot tell you anything about its finances. The commonly repeated story remains unverified, and we are leaving it there.
The Wheels
VeilSide is known for bodykits, and the wheel side is small — but it exists and it is current.
| Model | Construction, per VeilSide | Sizes |
|---|---|---|
| Andrew Racing Forged V | 鍛造ビレット — forged billet. A return of the Andrew Racing Evolution V design. | 8.0J to 12.5J, offsets down to −83 mm, adjustable in 1 mm increments |
| PL-V (also PL-VII, PL-X) | 鍛造ビレット削りだし3ピース — forged billet machined, three-piece | 19, 20 and 22 inch, size/PCD/offset to the buyer’s specification |
Both lines are made to order. Neither has a fixed published PCD list, which is consistent with low-volume three-piece forged production — you specify, they build.
An offset of −83 mm is worth pausing on. That is deeply dished, well outside anything a factory ever fitted, and it exists because VeilSide’s customers are building wide-body cars where the arch is somewhere else entirely. It is not a road-legal figure on a standard body in Japan.
Two Pages That Do Not Agree
A small inconsistency worth flagging, because we hit it while trying to answer a simple question.
VeilSide’s dedicated wheel page shows exactly one model: Andrew Racing Forged V. Its general product catalogue lists the wheel category as PL-V, PL-VII and PL-X. The two pages do not cross-reference each other.
We cannot tell from what is published whether these are the same family under different names, whether one supersedes the other, or whether both are sold concurrently. If you are ordering, ask.
Executive Sports Is Not a Wheel
Correcting a common assumption. “Executive Sports” appears throughout VeilSide’s catalogue — “Aristo JZS161 Executive Sports Model”, “BMW E46 Executive Sports Model” and so on — as a bodykit trim name, applied across many car-specific kits.
It is not, and as far as we can tell never was, a wheel line. If you see wheels advertised as “VeilSide Executive Sports”, that description is coming from the seller rather than from VeilSide.
What We Could Not Verify
- The Fast & Furious commercial story. No primary source addresses it at all.
- Whether Andrew Racing and the PL series are the same or different lines, and which is current.
- Any fixed PCD, weight or JWL/VIA certification for any VeilSide wheel. None is published.
- Activity after July 2023 specifically. That is the most recent dated news we could reach, and nothing suggests closure — but we could not confirm 2024 to 2026 directly.
- Whether “Executive Sports” was ever historically a wheel name.
Buying One
Three-piece forged, made to order, no published certification. That combination means: buy from a seller who can tell you the exact build spec, expect a long lead time on a new order, and treat a used set as a real find if the size suits you.
If the wheel needs to pass shaken in Japan, check the item itself rather than the brand. Our three-piece rebuilding guide covers what to inspect on a used multi-piece wheel.
