

The Short Version
- 2WD and 4WD Delicas do not share a bolt pattern. Every 2WD grade is 5×114.3 with a confirmed 67 mm bore. Every 4WD grade is 6×139.7.
- That split holds across both the Star Wagon and the later Space Gear. It is not a generational change — it is a drivetrain change.
- Space Gear 4WD bore is confirmed at 107 mm. Star Wagon 4WD bore is not published in the Japanese tables; see the caveat.
- Factory offsets are low on the 4WD: +22 on the Star Wagon, +33 on the Space Gear, against +40 on the 2WD vans.
The Only Thing You Really Need to Get Right
Delicas are bought overseas for the four-wheel-drive versions, and they are advertised loosely. A listing that says “Delica wheels” tells you nothing, because the same model name covers two completely different hubs.
The 2WD vans and wagons run a passenger-car hub: five studs at 114.3 mm, 67 mm register. The 4WD Star Wagons and Space Gears — the Jasper, the Chamonix, the Exceed, the ones people import — run a light-truck hub: six studs at 139.7 mm. There is no adapter answer here that we would recommend. Buy for the drivetrain you actually have.
The good news is that the 4WD pattern is the same 6×139.7 used across a large part of the Japanese light-truck world, so the wheel pool is enormous. The Hilux Surf, the Pajero and the Bighorn all share it. What differs between those vehicles is the bore and the offset, and that is where care is needed.

About That Missing Star Wagon Bore
The Japanese factory table leaves the hub bore field blank on every 4WD Star Wagon grade we checked, from 1992 to 1999. It fills the same field in for the Space Gear 4WD at 107 mm.
Those two vehicles share the drivetrain architecture and the 6×139.7 pattern, so 107 mm is a reasonable expectation for the Star Wagon as well. It is not a confirmed figure and we are not going to print it as one. If you are buying wheels for a 4WD Star Wagon, measure your hub — across the machined register that the wheel actually sits on, not the outer lip — or send us the chassis code and we will check it against a physical wheel.
This matters more on a Delica than on a car. These are heavy, tall vehicles and a lot of them are used loaded. The hub register carries the vehicle’s weight; the studs are there to clamp the wheel against the hub face, not to hold it up.
Offsets: the 4WD Sits Out
The 2WD vans sit at +40. The 4WD Star Wagon sits at +22, and the 4WD Space Gear at +33. That is Mitsubishi pushing the track wider on the off-road versions, and it is why 4WD Delicas look the way they do.
If you are shopping used 6×139.7 wheels from other Japanese vehicles, watch this. A Hilux Surf 185 wheel at +15 will sit further out than a Star Wagon’s +22. A third-generation Pajero wheel at +46 will sit a long way in. Both bolt on. Neither is the factory geometry.
For a lift or larger tyres, the usual Delica move is 15 or 16 inches at +20 to +35 with a 6.5J to 7J rim. Going below about +10 starts to load the front bearings in a way that a heavy van with a lot of overhang will let you know about.
Importing
The L300 Star Wagon ran from 1986 to 1999, so under the US 25-year rule the entire model is eligible — the final 1999 cars cleared in 1999 plus 25, which has already passed. Canada, the UK and New Zealand have their own and generally easier routes, which is why the Delica is such a common sight in all three.
The Space Gear is the one to check. It ran from 1994 to 2007, so cars built up to August 2001 are eligible now and the rest follow month by month through to 2032. As always, the build plate decides, not the model year.
