Why This Page Exists

The single most expensive mistake in buying used Japanese wheels is assuming that a model name describes a fitment. It often does not. Manufacturers change bolt patterns mid-model, split them by grade, and occasionally change the hub bore without changing the pattern at all.

We have now verified a large number of these against Japanese factory wheel tables. This page collects them in one place. Every entry links to the full guide, where the sourcing and the caveats live.

One rule before the table: a bolt pattern that fits is not the same as a fitment that is correct. Offset and hub bore decide whether the wheel sits where the car expects it. Several of the entries below are cases where the pattern stayed the same and something else moved.

Splits by Grade, Not by Year

These are the harder ones, because two cars built on the same day can differ.

Toyota Hiace H100 The passenger Wagon is 5×114.3 on 67 mm. The commercial hardware and the Grand Hiace are 6×139.7. The split is purpose, not year.
Toyota Sprinter Carib The AE115 is 5×100. The AE95, AE111 and AE114 are 4×100. Same rim, same offset, different hole count.
Suzuki Swift Sport Every ZC-chassis Sport is 5×114.3 on 60 mm. The pre-ZC HT81S and every ordinary Swift are 4×100 on 54 mm.
Honda Civic EP3 The Type R is 5×114.3 on 64 mm. The EP1 and EP2 in the same shell are 4×100.
Nissan Skyline R32 The GT-R and GTS4 are 5×114.3. The base GTS-type S is 4×114.3. R30 and R31 are four-lug throughout.
Nissan Cedric Y31 Same 5×114.3, but the turbo Gran Turismo reads 66 mm and the naturally aspirated Classic reads 73 mm.

Same Pattern, Different Place

The quietest trap of all. These cars share a bolt pattern and a bore with something you might buy wheels from, and still will not sit right.

Cars Where Nobody Publishes the Bore

A category we did not expect to need. On these, the Japanese databases print 調査中 — under investigation — rather than a figure, or the car is not tabulated at all. In every case the bolt pattern is known and the register is not.

On the Sunny and Sunny Truck the figure is published for the front axle only, which is its own kind of warning.

How to Use This

  1. Get the chassis code, not the model name. Nearly every entry above is invisible if you only know what the car is called.
  2. Count the studs from a photograph before you pay. It costs nothing and it catches the grade splits.
  3. Match the offset to your own generation, not to the model. Five to fifteen millimetres is the usual size of these differences, and it is visible.
  4. Where the bore is unpublished, measure it. Across the machined register the wheel actually seats on, in two directions, and take the larger figure.

If you send us a chassis code we will check it against a physical wheel before you buy. That is generally faster than arguing with a spec sheet.

The Prius is now the only car in this reference to appear on both this list and the hole-count list: it ran 4 × 100 on the NHW10 and NHW11, 5 × 100 from the NHW20, and 5 × 114.3 from 2023. Three incompatible fitments on one nameplate.

The Impreza now joins the Forester as the second Subaru line to move from 5 × 100 to 5 × 114.3 while keeping a 56 mm bore. The Daihatsu case is the odd one out in this reference: 4 × 110 and 4 × 100 differ by 2.5 mm at each stud and look identical at a glance.
